The Mercies Of God Has A Limit
Brothers and Sisters, this will be a Long Message, but please read it’s entirely to Understand how Mercy has its Limits.
Brothers and Sisters Our God has Mercy upon those who Seek Him To Do His Will, to those who Choose to Walk In Obedience and to those who show Mercy. But you Must Understand this, God has a Limit of His Own Choosing in Giving Mercy.
Before anyone start saying The Scripture says His Mercy is Everlasting, then why is there Judgment?
In the verse below we find that God is Longsuffering, has Great Mercy, In Forgiving Sins. We find that Guilty Of Sin will be Visited unto the Third and Fourth Generations, giving them a chance to Repent and turn away from their sins and in this Mercy is giving them a Chance to Repent and turn from their wicked ways, but if they do not…ThenComes Judgment.
Num 14:18
“The LORD [is] longsuffering, and of great mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression, and by no means clearing [the guilty], visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth [generation].”
Mercy has No Time Limit, but is according to God’s Law that He Abides By. We find throughout The Scriptures that God showed mercy to thousands, giving them a chance to change their ways, but if they did not, Judgment was carried out.
When this writing began to form in me four days ago, The Lord reminded me that Mercy and Obedience Walk Hand-In-Hand. That it is His Mercy that leads us to His Mercy On Our Life Through Obedience To His Will, NOT that of our own. God said He would have Mercy and Compassion upon whom He Chooses. For some are born unto Mercy and others born unto Destruction.
Rom 9:15-18
“15 For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. 16 So then [it is] not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy. 17 For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth. 18 Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will [have mercy], and whom he will he hardeneth.”
Let us look at God’s Mercy dealing with Pharaoh… Each time before a Plague would be done, before a Judgment was done. God’s Request was to free the Israelites from bondage, God Showed Mercy, before Judgment.

Judgment…
Exo 8:16-17
“16 And the LORD said unto Moses, Say unto Aaron, Stretch out thy rod, and smite the dust of the land, that it may become lice throughout all the land of Egypt. 17 And they did so; for Aaron stretched out his hand with his rod, and smote the dust of the earth, and it became lice in man, and in beast; all the dust of the land became lice throughout all the land of Egypt.”

Exo 9:3-5
“3 Behold, the hand of the LORD is upon thy cattle which [is] in the field, upon the horses, upon the asses, upon the camels, upon the oxen, and upon the sheep: [there shall be] a very grievous murrain. 4 And the LORD shall sever between the cattle of Israel and the cattle of Egypt: and there shall nothing die of all [that is] the children’s of Israel. 5 And the LORD appointed a set time, saying, To morrow the LORD shall do this thing in the land.”
Judgment…
Exo 9:3-5

Exo 9:18-22
“18 Behold, to morrow about this time I will cause it to rain a very grievous hail, such as hath not been in Egypt since the foundation thereof even until now. 19 Send therefore now, [and] gather thy cattle, and all that thou hast in the field; [for upon] every man and beast which shall be found in the field, and shall not be brought home, the hail shall come down upon them, and they shall die. 20 He that feared the word of the LORD among the servants of Pharaoh made his servants and his cattle flee into the houses: 21 And he that regarded not the word of the LORD left his servants and his cattle in the field. 22 And the LORD said unto Moses, Stretch forth thine hand toward heaven, that there may be hail in all the land of Egypt, upon man, and upon beast, and upon every herb of the field, throughout the land of Egypt.”

Exo 10:1-4
“1 And the LORD said unto Moses, Go in unto Pharaoh: for I have hardened his heart, and the heart of his servants, that I might shew these my signs before him: 2 And that thou mayest tell in the ears of thy son, and of thy son’s son, what things I have wrought in Egypt, and my signs which I have done among them; that ye may know how that I [am] the LORD. 3 And Moses and Aaron came in unto Pharaoh, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD God of the Hebrews, How long wilt thou refuse to humble thyself before me? let my people go, that they may serve me. 4 Else, if thou refuse to let my people go, behold, to morrow will I bring the locusts into thy coast:”
Judgment…
Exo 10:12-15
“12 And the LORD said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand over the land of Egypt for the locusts, that they may come up upon the land of Egypt, and eat every herb of the land, [even] all that the hail hath left. 13 And Moses stretched forth his rod over the land of Egypt, and the LORD brought an east wind upon the land all that day, and all [that] night; [and] when it was morning, the east wind brought the locusts. 14 And the locusts went up over all the land of Egypt, and rested in all the coasts of Egypt: very grievous [were they]; before them there were no such locusts as they, neither after them shall be such. 15 For they covered the face of the whole earth, so that the land was darkened; and they did eat every herb of the land, and all the fruit of the trees which the hail had left: and there remained not any green thing in the trees, or in the herbs of the field, through all the land of Egypt.”
Mercy…
Exo 10:16-20
“16 Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron in haste; and he said, I have sinned against the LORD your God, and against you. 17 Now therefore forgive, I pray thee, my sin only this once, and intreat the LORD your God, that he may take away from me this death only. 18 And he went out from Pharaoh, and intreated the LORD. 19 And the LORD turned a mighty strong west wind, which took away the locusts, and cast them into the Red sea; there remained not one locust in all the coasts of Egypt. 20 But the LORD hardened Pharaoh’s heart, so that he would not let the children of Israel go.”
Judgment…
Exo 10:21-23

Mercy…
Exo 10:24-27
“24 And Pharaoh called unto Moses, and said, Go ye, serve the LORD; only let your flocks and your herds be stayed: let your little ones also go with you. 25 And Moses said, Thou must give us also sacrifices and burnt offerings, that we may sacrifice unto the LORD our God. 26 Our cattle also shall go with us; there shall not an hoof be left behind; for thereof must we take to serve the LORD our God; and we know not with what we must serve the LORD, until we come thither. 27 But the LORD hardened Pharaoh’s heart, and he would not let them go.”
Judgment…
Exo 11:4-6
“4 And Moses said, Thus saith the LORD, About midnight will I go out into the midst of Egypt: 5 And all the firstborn in the land of Egypt shall die, from the firstborn of Pharaoh that sitteth upon his throne, even unto the firstborn of the maidservant that [is] behind the mill; and all the firstborn of beasts. 6 And there shall be a great cry throughout all the land of Egypt, such as there was none like it, nor shall be like it any more.”
Mercy…
Exo 12:33-37
“33 And the Egyptians were urgent upon the people, that they might send them out of the land in haste; for they said, We [be] all dead [men]. 34 And the people took their dough before it was leavened, their kneadingtroughs being bound up in their clothes upon their shoulders. 35 And the children of Israel did according to the word of Moses; and they borrowed of the Egyptians jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and raiment: 36 And the LORD gave the people favour in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they lent unto them [such things as they required]. And they spoiled the Egyptians. 37 And the children of Israel journeyed from Rameses to Succoth, about six hundred thousand on foot [that were] men, beside children.”
Mercy…
Exo 14:19-20
“19 And the angel of God, which went before the camp of Israel, removed and went behind them; and the pillar of the cloud went from before their face, and stood behind them: 20 And it came between the camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel; and it was a cloud and darkness [to them], but it gave light by night [to these]: so that the one came not near the other all the night.”
Judgment…
Exo 14:24-28
“24 And it came to pass, that in the morning watch the LORD looked unto the host of the Egyptians through the pillar of fire and of the cloud, and troubled the host of the Egyptians, 25 And took off their chariot wheels, that they drave them heavily: so that the Egyptians said, Let us flee from the face of Israel; for the LORD fighteth for them against the Egyptians. 26 And the LORD said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand over the sea, that the waters may come again upon the Egyptians, upon their chariots, and upon their horsemen. 27 And Moses stretched forth his hand over the sea, and the sea returned to his strength when the morning appeared; and the Egyptians fled against it; and the LORD overthrew the Egyptians in the midst of the sea. 28 And the waters returned, and covered the chariots, and the horsemen, [and] all the host of Pharaoh that came into the sea after them; there remained not so much as one of them.”
God The Father, showed Mercy to the Egyptians before each and every Judgment that was to come. At any one of the Mercy’s, if Pharaoh would have listened to God and Obeyed, then, No Judgment would have come thereafter. We, Brothers and Sisters face the very same thing, that is, if we Listen to The Lord Jesus and The Leading Of The Holy Spirit we will Obtain Mercy for what lies ahead of us, but and again, I say BUT, if we do not Listen to whatever the Lord Jesus Commands then have we Chose Not Mercy, but Judgment to come upon us.
Now, there will be those who would say that was the Old Testament, dealing with Israel alone!
But there is the same Type Of Reference in The New Testament, such as…
Mercy…
Act 4:32-35
“32 And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any [of them] that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common. 33 And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all. 34 Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold, 35 And laid [them] down at the apostles’ feet: and distribution was made unto every man according as he had need.”
Judgment…
Act 5:1-7
“1 But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession, 2 And kept back [part] of the price, his wife also being privy [to it], and brought a certain part, and laid [it] at the apostles’ feet. 3 But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back [part] of the price of the land? 4 Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God. 5 And Ananias hearing these words fell down, and gave up the ghost: and great fear came on all them that heard these things. 6 And the young men arose, wound him up, and carried [him] out, and buried [him]. 7 And it was about the space of three hours after, when his wife, not knowing what was done, came in.”
Mercy…
Act 5:7-8
“7 And it was about the space of three hours after, when his wife, not knowing what was done, came in. 8 And Peter answered unto her, Tell me whether ye sold the land for so much? And she said, Yea, for so much.”
Judgment…
Act 5:9-10
“9 Then Peter said unto her, How is it that ye have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? behold, the feet of them which have buried thy husband [are] at the door, and shall carry thee out. 10 Then fell she down straightway at his feet, and yielded up the ghost: and the young men came in, and found her dead, and, carrying [her] forth, buried [her] by her husband.”
We Serve the Same God, The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit, being three are One, God’s Mercy flows to us who have been Born Again, Blood Bought by Jesus The Son Of God, The Christ! But let none think that we are without Judgment where Mercy was First Present and Disobedience Followed! It will be harder on us Who Know God’s Mercy that is Upon Us, the Dispensation Of Grace!
We are to Obtain Mercy through the Love that we Give and Show to Jesus by Keeping His Commandments.
Jhn 14:15
“If ye love me, keep my commandments.”
To those who were in the days of our Brother Paul, who likewise Believed that because of Grace, Mercy was automatically abound, Paul Rebuked!
Rom 6:14-16
“14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. 15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. 16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?”
God’s Mercy has a Limit, for where Disobedience Is Chosen, Mercy has fled and Judgment Awaits! But, there is Hope!!! If we come to Jesus and Ask for Forgiveness Of Sin, then, Mercy Abounds, Grace is given! In the same context, Jesus said that IF, IF WE LOVE HIM then WE WILL KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS and Mercy Is Found, Grace abides! But if WE Walk In Disobedience then The Love that Jesus Requires is not there, nor is Mercy Found and there is No Grace!!!
There are many, many more Scriptures to prove this point that will not be written here, but, Understand this Brothers and Sisters, that Mercy Has Limits, Jesus Has Limits. Do not take Mercy for granted, look for it, Understand it, Cherish it, Jesus does Love Us and wants the very best for us in showing Mercy, but we Must First Honor Him!!!
Amen and Amen!!!
Be Blessed in the Mighty Name of Jesus, Our Lord and Savior!!!
Amen and Amen!!!
