“20 But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it; 21 Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended.”
Brothers and Sisters it is a very sad thing to see this happen, that with Joy they do Accept Jesus Gift Of Eternal Life, but because they have No Understanding of what they must do thereafter, they fall away. In about half of the cases it is The Church’s Fault. When speaking with someone about Jesus they must also know that He Requires Discipleship, that He Requires a Changed Life. In too many cases people tell the Great News of Jesus, but fail in explaining that they must change in ways that The World that they are used to will come to Hate Them.
We must do a better job of Preparing The Hearer for a Life Changing Event, that Our Ways do not match, are not equal to God’s Ways.
“8 For my thoughts [are] not your thoughts, neither [are] your ways my ways, saith the LORD. 9 For [as] the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.”
I hear it now, those who would say “It is Not My Job, Not My Place…” but if you are Living Accordingly, that is, if you are truly Blood Bought then Your Life Style should Confess that Jesus Is Lord Over Your Life and by that mere fact, it has become Your Responsibility to tell The Hearer what lies ahead of them. Now, do Understand this, there are many that will Hear, Agree and Fall Away even if they know The Truth, even after we have done all that we can do to prevent such a tragedy. Why is this such a Great Tragedy? It is because there are many who sit in churches that are like this. They have been told or taught that once you Accept Jesus All Is Good and that you are Granted Passage Into Heaven because of the Blood Of Jesus and Your Acceptance that He Is your Savior.
The Lord Jesus showed a long time ago that there is a Difference between a Savior and a Lord, and the Gap between is Great! When someone Accepts Jesus as Savior, there is No Change that must take place in a persons Life, all they must do is say “I Believe In Jesus and Have Accepted Him Into My Life”. This is Not the case when you Accept Jesus As Lord. With Lordship THERE MUST BE A CHANGE to one’s Life and bring one’s Life Into Subjection Of Jesus Will, Ways and Thoughts. One Must be as the Caterpillar which is Transformed from one Life into a completely Different Life.
The Excitement of one being Saved should be a Recognizable Event, every day of One’s Life, but the Excitement Lingers when one Examines and Changes their Life to be Acceptable To Jesus, it takes Work!!!
“1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, [which is] your reasonable service. 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what [is] that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
There are those who Explain Away the Process, alluding that all you have to do is go to church, read your bible and everything is right with the world, but this is Incorrect. The Luster of one’s Sin being Forgiven is Exciting! It Illuminates one’s feeling of Freedom, bringing Joy and Peace into one’s Life.
We need to tell the Hearer what comes next, and it is Not going to a church and it is Not merely reading The Bible. We need to Explain that The World will Hate them, that their Friends they now have will likely turn away, ending in lost relationships. They Must Know that they are entering in to a Contract With Jesus that is Signed By His Blood to Live According to His Will and Not Their Own Will or Ways.
“He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.”
“For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.”
“For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.”
“If any [man] come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.”
We NEED to Explain these things to them, they should NOT be given a False Doctrine of Repentance, but one that Explains that Their Life MUST CHANGE!
Why is this important, one reason is the last verse above, Jesus said that in order for them to be His Disciple, they must lose everything in their Life that comes against Him or His Ways. Another reason they must know, that Jesus said that as with a candle that is lit, is made to light the Whole Room they are in, in other words, that Their Lives, being changed, should show to Everyone Around Them, to See and Know they have Jesus As Lord.
“14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. 15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”
It should be Explained to them that Accepting Jesus As Lord will not be an easy task to take on. That the Excitement of being Free From Sin will linger, especially when Change starts to happen. To those who may be thinking that I am referring to the difficult sins, I’m talking about any change that must occur for them to Walk as Jesus Commands. For some it will be to stop Drinking Alcohol for others it will be in their Social Lives or Family.
They need to Understand that the Price of Their Salvation is a Debt That CANNOT Ever Be Paid Back, but that it takes a Transformation of one’s Life from Ungodly Living to Godly Living. That they Must See and Understand things from God’s point view and Not Their Own or even what others may think. This is why the verse below is important for them to Understand that they had been looking at things from their or the worlds point of view, but now that they have Accepted Jesus as Lord these same things Must Take On A New and Godly View from this point forward.
“Therefore if any man [be] in Christ, [he is] a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”
2 Corinthians 5:17
The key point is, “…All Things Are BECOME NEW”, they must be a Change in View Points. They Must Learn to see things through God’s Eyes and not their own or the worlds…but We MUST Tell them so! They Must Know that there are going to be Hard Decision they Must Make in order for Jesus to Accept Them. See there has been a False Doctrine, a False Teaching that has No Change, No Accountability that is being taught. We sing or speak that Jesus Accepts Me just as I am, which is a Half Truth. At the very beginning, the first moment that you Accept Jesus, a Change has already taken place and at that point of time Jesus Accepts you Just As You Are, but there is more to it than that. Jesus also Demands a Life Style Change, from Ungodly to Godly, it is Not A Request, it is a Demand. After Accepting Jesus as Lord, it is no longer that He Accepts you as you are, but He Requires you to become like He is, which is Holy.
“Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.”
1 Peter 1:16
They must Understand that change is on Jesus Terms, meaning, we Must Change According To His Will, but at His Pace, His Timing. This means that some people will change at a Greater Pace than others, but none the less, there is Change that Must Take Place. They CANNOT stay where there are or become Stagnant In Change. Again there are reasons we Must tell them. They need to Understand that even though Jesus has Set Us Free from Past Sins we will still be Judged according to How We Live.
There are Two Judgments, one is Salvation, that is, is Our Name Written in the Lambs Book Of Life and second what did we do In and With Our Lives.
“12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is [the book] of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. … 15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”
Revelation 20:12, 15
“11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; 13 Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is. 14 If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. 15 If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.”
1 Corinthians 3:11-15
Our Brother James explains a Disciples Walk…
“17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. 18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. 19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.”
Our Brother James is saying that if Your Life does not Produce Living as Jesus Will Demands then you are no better than Satan, because he Knows who Jesus is and produces no such works as Godly and he trembles, is terrified… he Believes!
Our Walk is both Exciting and Very Hard and they are not always together. There will be times that will be very hard with no joy, no excitement, no pleasure and even no comfort, but once we get through the event in our lives we Find Excitement that Jesus has brought us through, that He has proven Lordship and Salvation.
There is a man whom I have witnessed to, that while speaking to him, I told him that he was probably going to lose his friends, that they may even hate him, he could not accept that price. I had to explain to him that Jesus shed His Blood for Him Completely, that everything and everyone comes under scrutiny, that Jesus Died for Him and that his friends have done nothing and would not do anything even equal to what Jesus has done for him. Sadly, he did not Accept Jesus because of The Truth. Now understand this, I have been witnessing to this man a long time, the man never ask about Jesus, but when The Holy Spirit Leads Me, I speak to him. But in every instance the man knows that he must change in order to be Accepted By Jesus in How He Lives, The Truth Must Be Spoken!
What many do Not Understand about the New Testament is that it was to the Jews First, they, for the most part, were trying to Live Godly, so very little change had to take place. But to us, The Gentiles, a Great Change Must Take Place, because we did not even Know about God until someone told us, the Jews already know about God.
So, this message is to those whom you would speak to about Jesus and to those who’s Walk is Lingering because of the loss of Excitement, that it is Not Excitement that Compels Us to Walk Forward, but it is the Promise Of Eternal Salvation and a Willingness To Change FOR God, to Live According to Jesus through The Holy Spirit!
Obedience Brings Excitement For
Amen and Amen!!!
Be Blessed in the Mighty Name of Jesus, Our Lord and Savior!!!
