Whom do you say God Is, what are His Characteristics? Only God, through The Holy Spirit can reveal His Characteristics. It does not matter what you try and do, it must be God who removes the veil that separates you from Him. Those who are Blood Bought can only Know Whom Our God Is, by building a Relationship with Him, revealing The Characteristics Of God.
“Study to shew thyself approved unto God,
a workman that needeth not to be ashamed,
rightly dividing the word of truth.”
2 Timothy 2:15
Brothers and Sisters God, which is, The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit want to Build a Relationship with you. God Desires that His Children know His Characteristics, to be a Part in His Characteristics by Instilling The Characteristics In Your Daily Lives.
If you want to know Whom you Serve, that is, The God Of All Things, then you must Study The Word. You cannot go off of what you think about God, because our thoughts produce Carnal Thinking about God. Jesus said that He would send the Holy Spirit, The Comforter to Teach Us, but there is more to What Jesus has said.
“26 But the Comforter, [which is] the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. 27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
John 14:26-27
Jesus makes a Promise here. He said that The Holy Ghost, Will Teach us and to Bring All Things To Our Remembrance. There are Rules that must be followed in order for this to happen. It is more than being Re-Born, it is more than Going To Church and it is more than just Reading The Bible.
Below I will lay out the Rules that God has established to Know His Characteristics.
The first thing you must Accept Jesus As The Savior.
“I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah.”
Psalm 32:5
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”
Romans 10:9
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us [our] sins,
and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
1 John 1:9
“Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.”
1 John 4:15
Without this it is literally impossible to Know God’s Characteristics. You must be Washed by The Blood Of Jesus First! But this is only the beginning of the Rules that has been set in motion. No one can change this Rule, No One can Add to this Rule and No One can take away from this Rule, it is the Start Of God’s Characteristics.
The First Characteristic Of God is Love. Within this Love, All of God’s Characteristics can be found…if you Seek To Find.
“16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.”
John 3:16-17
“He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.”
1 John 4:8
We Must Seek God! What does it mean to Seek God? As mentioned above it is more than Going To Church and it is more than just Reading The Bible. It takes a Committed Life to Become A Child Of God. You Must have a Desire to know Who God is and if you do not then He will keep hidden from you Who He Is.
“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
Matthew 6:33
“Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find;
knock, and it shall be opened unto you:”
Matthew 7:7
“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”
2 Chronicles 7:14
God wants His People to Seek Who He Is, to take on the Characteristics Of God, but God will not force you to. it is an Action that we must take upon ourselves, to Know The Characteristics Of God, and Walk them out in our Daily Lives. We must understand that there are two parts to us and only one pleases God.
“5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. 6 For to be carnally minded [is] death; but to be spiritually minded [is] life and peace. 7 Because the carnal mind [is] enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. 8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.”
Romans 8:5-8
When we are First Saved we are still Carnal Minded. We have not established the Characteristics Of God into our Lives and this can only happen If We Choose To Change. If we do, then All Things Become New!
“Therefore if any man [be] in Christ, [he is] a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”
2 Corinthians 5:17
So many people have confessed this Scripture wrong and by doing so have missed the Characteristics Of God in their Lives. Many believe that they are Instantly Transformed, that they have become all that God would have them to be. But, if you Read this Scripture with the Understanding of The Holy Spirit it is broken down to this level: 1) Saved; 2) You Are A New Creature; 3) Old Things (Sin) Are Passed Away; 4) All Things Become New! Praise Jesus!!! There are many that leave out the “Become” and say they “Are” or “Everything Has Instantly Changed”, this is far from the Truth.
We must Seek God and Who He Is to Know Him. In order for this to happen there must be a Transformation from Carnal to Spiritual. Our thinking process Must Change from Carnal to Spiritual, we must set aside All Preconceived Ideas of Who We Think God Is.
“1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, [which is] your reasonable service. 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what [is] that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
Romans 12:1-2
Our Thought Process has to be Transformed Into and Establish God In Us, by Our Choice! Here in this above Scripture the words “I beseech you…” means literally that Paul is saying “I Beg You” or “I Plea With You. “ to change your ways of Thinking, to change your Life Styles and become a Living Sacrifice. God will Not Force you to do this, you must have a Desire To Be Obedient.
I did not become who I am just because I wanted to be this way. Jesus had to change me from the Inside Out, He had to Take Up Full Residence within me, Jesus bought this House, He’s Not Renting it! Jesus had to come in and make changes that were hard, things that I did not want to let go of, that is my Language, my Life Style, my Friends, my Family Ties, All Things Had To BECOME NEW!!! I had to first start by changing my thoughts to the thoughts of God and then I had to Establish those thoughts Into My Life, choosing to be Obedient To God’s Holy Word, that is, To Jesus As Lord!!!
“Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any [man] will come after me,
let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.”
Matthew 16:24
To Deny Who I Was and become Who God wanted me to be was an Action Of Love for My Creator!!! It takes a Love, that is, a Deep Unsolicited Love for me to Change. I Wanted to know Who I Served and Why I Serve Him, why I would give up All Things to be what He Desires of me to be. To loose family, friends and desires to become Christ Like. I had to Choose To Be A Living Sacrifice it was not instant and has taken years to understand.
“He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.”
John 14:21
Obedience is Greater Foundation with Jesus being The Chief Corner Stone of that Foundation. Without Jesus being The Chief Corner Stone, then All Things Are Carnal and the Actions there of are in Disobedience! It takes you to Release Your Will to The Will Of Jesus, to Walk even as He Desires you to do so. I do not always understand, nor do I always know where Jesus is leading me, but, if I am His then it does not matter and my only choice is to Trust Him, believing that All Things are in His Hands!!!
“Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me:
nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.”
Luke 22:42
All of Jesus’ Life was an Example to us on The Characteristics Of God and how we are to Live. It does not just happen, you must want what Jesus Wants and what Jesus wants is to Glorify The Father With You!!! At the end of all things, we will be presented to The Father as The Bride Of Christ. For as a Man and Woman get married and become one, so we are with Jesus or should be, that is, We Have Become One in Thought and Deed To The Will Of Him who took our Sins Away, giving us Eternal Life!!!
We must be as the Berean’s are, that is, they Studied The Word, Believing the Word, Becoming The Word.
“10 And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming [thither] went into the synagogue of the Jews. 11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so. 12 Therefore many of them believed; also of honourable women which were Greeks, and of men, not a few.”
Acts 17:10-12
When you say that you “Believe”, do you? Believe is an Action not just Words in The Bible and in order for your Belief to Become A Part Of Who You Are, you must Study Who God Is and then Become Who God Wants You To Be!!!
As with anything in Life, whatever You Study You Become!!!
