“9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: 10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of [things] in heaven, and [things] in earth, and [things] under the earth; 11 And [that] every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ [is] Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
Philippians 2:9-11
Brothers and Sisters What’s In A Name is very important, both in this World and in Heaven. Some people here on Earth, by their Name can do a lot of things, but most to their own Glory. By some their Name can bring Fear or even Devastation to those around them.
We need to understand that there is Only One Name that God The Father cares about, that makes a difference between Life and Death that Has and Will bring Glorification To Him. We, The Blood Bought, need to have His Name on the very tip of our conversations; His Name needs to Fill our Soul with Hope, with Love, being Obedient To Him and Him Alone, Above All People, regardless of any situation.
When it is our time to go Home, people who knew you and even those of short conversations, should say that We Lived To Glorify God! They should know that Only By One Name are We Known By, that is the Name Of Jesus, God The Fathers Only Begotten Son, who Sits on the Right Hand of The Father, In All Power and Authority!!! When it is our time, people should say, “… you know that person who Believed In God…”, it does not matter if they remember your name, but it does matter if they remember that You Lived To Glorify Jesus!!!
“11 And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul: 12 So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them. 13 Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth. 14 And there were seven sons of [one] Sceva, a Jew, [and] chief of the priests, which did so. 15 And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye? 16 And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded. 17 And this was known to all the Jews and Greeks also dwelling at Ephesus; and fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified.”
Acts 19:11-17
Now there are a few things to understand about this set of Scriptures. The first thing we need to see is that God Used Paul to do many Miracles, Healing the Sick, only by one name. A second thing is that those who where around Paul, knew he had Authority and Power over Evil Spirits, only by one name. A third thing is that it does not matter What Position you hold or whatever you confess to others, because Satan and his minions Know Whom You Are and What Spirit Dwells In You, only by one name. The fourth thing is that these minions have Power and Authority over the Flesh of those who are Not Saved, only by one name. The last thing, which starts from the beginning, is that Jesus Must Be Magnified Above All Things!
This Chief Of The Priest thought that he could do what they always had done. He thought that he could overcome the evil that was present, but found that he was Powerless! But, there is the one thing that needs to be caught here, the evil spirits said … I Know Paul and I Know Jesus… If you are Saved, that is, The Blood Of Jesus has Washed you, then Satan Knows you by Name. He knows that Jesus Is Living In You. But, I need to throw a word of caution out here. Just because you are Saved, does not mean you can do what Paul, or others like him, did. That does not mean that you do not have the Authority or Power Of Jesus, it does mean what has Jesus Called you to do.
One of the times in my life I was at work witnessing and done so the ten years I was there, but there was one young lady that was Saved but had No Authority or Power over an evil spirit that possessed a person they knew. They had come to me asking for help in dealing with this person and I gave her instructions on what to do. One day, as I was walking in the hall, I saw her with the person that was possessed, which I knew instantly as soon as I saw this person. As I started to walk towards them, the person fled fast to get away from me. That only happened because of Jesus Living In Me and the Power and Authority that Jesus had placed me in.
Another time in a church, on a Tuesday night prayer time, the Holy Spirit spoke and said to look at the stage of this church. When I did, I seen two thrones setting there, one was empty and the other Satan was sitting in and he was laughing at those who were there. But, as soon as he saw me, his countenance changed from laughter to one who had been found out and recognized.
My point is this, Satan, if you are truly Saved, that is, Blood Bought through Jesus, he will know Who You Are!
“27 But the men marvelled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him! 28 And when he was come to the other side into the country of the Gergesenes, there met him two possessed with devils, coming out of the tombs, exceeding fierce, so that no man might pass by that way. 29 And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time?”
Matthew 8:27-29
Brothers and Sisters many of you speak and pray amiss in many cases. The point of this Scripture is this, the evil spirits knew who Jesus was, by Name and by Position. Many of you when you speak of Jesus or when praying you will say, “…in your name…” or “…in his name…” or “…lord by your name…”, not once in these examples is Jesus even mentioned, but yet it is Only The Name Of Jesus that we can move mountains! Also many of you will say “…in Jesus Christ name…”, not necessarily knowing what you are saying. Jesus is the Only Name of The Son Of God The Father, Christ, is His Position, meaning Savior or Messiah, also meaning “The Anointed One”. That is one of the reasons that I say “Jesus, The Christ”, how important is this? You need to Understand what you Speak and Why you Speak it. By doing so we render Satan and his minions powerless! So, when you see in Scripture Jesus Christ, you can think this, Jesus Savior, Jesus The Messiah or Jesus The Anointed One.
“Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul?”
1 Corinthians 1:13
“Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and [that] there be no divisions among you; but [that] ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.”
1 Corinthians 1:10
There is Only One Son Of God The Father and His Name Is Jesus! It is by Jesus that we are Washed Clean and Only By Jesus! It is also Only By Jesus that our Names remain in the Lambs Book Of Life! It is also by Jesus that we will receive a New Name in Heaven, written on white stones that Jesus will give.
“He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.”
Revelation 3:5
“He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth [it].”
Revelation 2:17
Brothers and Sisters it does not matter what your name is or what position you hold, when Jesus approaches The Father on your behalf, it will only be The Name Of Jesus that will count and it is because of His Love and His Obedience to The Father that Your Sins have been Washed Away! It does not matter whether you are a President of a company, or the Janitor, or if you have been put into some other position of power and authority, or if you are poor, because the only position that we should have is, Obedience To Jesus!
