“And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:”
Hebrews 9:27
Every Male and Every Female will Die, there is no question to that, but it does question the Life Here After, what is Their Destiny? Before we get to that, let us put Death into Three Distinct Categories.
The First Category is “Pre Mature”: Any Type of Baby Death, Any Type of Murder, Any Type of Disease, and Any Type of Suicide. Some of these can cross over to another Category, called “Ordained”.
The Second Category is “Natural”: any Death without the First Category being the cause.
The Third Category is “Ordained”: Any Death that has been set to God’s Glory, including all those in the First Category, except for Suicide.
Because of these Categories that have been here since the beginning of time, I will touch on the “Two Witnesses” that are talked about in Revelations for a short commentary.
“1 And there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein. 2 But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty [and] two months. 3 And I will give [power] unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred [and] threescore days, clothed in sackcloth. 4 These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth. 5 And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed. 6 These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will. 7 And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them. 8 And their dead bodies [shall lie] in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified. 9 And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and an half, and shall not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves. 10 And they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the earth.”
Revelation 11:1-10
There are only two Men in Scripture that fit the Two Witnesses and that is because they have not tasted Death yet. That is Enoch and Elijah.
“And Enoch walked with God: and he [was] not; for God took him.”
Genesis 5:24
“And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, [there appeared] a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.”
2 Kings 2:11
It is my Belief, as the Lord Showed me this long ago, that Every Man must taste Death Once and these are the only two Men in Scripture that have not Yet tasted Death.
Now back to the main topic here.
“24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit. 25 He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal. 26 If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will [my] Father honour.”
John 12:24-26
“24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any [man] will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. 25 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. 26 For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?”
Matthew 16:24-26
Death comes in many shapes and sizes and is bound to this Earth. All things must Die and God has Ordained this since the beginning of Adams Fall.
“1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? 2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: 3 But of the fruit of the tree which [is] in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. 4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: 5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. 6 And when the woman saw that the tree [was] good for food, and that it [was] pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make [one] wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. 7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they [were] naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons. 8 And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden. 9 And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where [art] thou? 10 And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I [was] naked; and I hid myself. 11 And he said, Who told thee that thou [wast] naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat? 12 And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest [to be] with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat. 13 And the LORD God said unto the woman, What [is] this [that] thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat. 14 And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou [art] cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life: 15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel. 16 Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire [shall be] to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee. 17 And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed [is] the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat [of] it all the days of thy life; 18 Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field; 19 In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou [art], and unto dust shalt thou return. 20 And Adam called his wife’s name Eve; because she was the mother of all living. 21 Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them. 22 And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever: 23 Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken. 24 So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.”
Genesis 3:1-24
Time did not begin until Adam ate of the Fruit, therefore Death was introduced into the World.
Now Death can be Relationships, the Loss Of Desires, the Loss Of Lifegiving Attributes. Death has No Bounds and has many names. In Heaven, though, there is No Death.
“And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.”
Revelation 20:14
When there is Death, Sorrow seems to follow and is accepted that it is the End and that there is No More thereafter. But this Perspective is incorrect. If we look at Death, for us who Believe that Jesus Is The Christ, then we see Life After Death, even in the things of this Earth. The Scriptures say that unless a seed falls to the ground and Die First, that there is No Life afterwards.
Let us look at a few things dealing with Death. When a Leaf falls from a tree, it will die. But in its Death, it brings Life in other areas so that other things can live, it did not Die In Its Self being alone. When you lose your job, it opens a door of opportunity unto another, thus brings forth Life to you and to someone that takes your last job. When a person dies, they will have another Life, the question is Where!
Death is not to be Mourned, but to Rejoice In What Lies Ahead! When Death comes knocking on my door, when Jesus says that I am finished, I do not want people to Mourn my leaving, but to Rejoice in that I am in Heaven, that All Of My Pains, Sorrows and Tears will be NO MORE (No, my Time here on Earth is Not Up)! No, I am not a fool, nor will I give way to foolishness that you will not feel sorrow in the loss of my company, my words and my actions, but do not rest in that I am gone, for WE WILL MEET AGAIN!!! Thank You Jesus, Praise Your Holy Name!!!.
You need to Live Life to your Fullest In Jesus, finding God’s Pleasures in this World, desiring to be in the company of Jesus For Ever! When Death comes walking into your Life, dealing with the things of this World, then Rejoice in Asking Jesus what is Your Next Adventure For Me! Death does not have to be Sorrowful, it can be filled with Rejoicing.
In conclusion, Death is but a Door To Meet With Jesus! Let not Death be your focus… or be your downfall, but use it to gain a Greater Relationship With Jesus, Knowing There Is Life After Death…In All Things!!!
Amen and Amen!!!
