Greetings Brother’s and Sister’s in the Mighty Name of Jesus, Our Lord and Savor!!!
In 2 Corinthians 5:17, it says
“Therefore if any man [be] in Christ, [he is] a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”
This Scripture has been miss-interpretated by so many people. There are aspects to this we need to break down.
“Therefore if any man be in Christ…” . First thing, you have to be Saved, it will not work any other way. The second part, if you are saved, then part of what follows has to happen. “…he is a new creature…”, that is you, your spirit is brand new, you are a New Creature. But, your Soul is another story, that still needs to be changed and that is where Studying God’s Word comes in. “…old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new”. The way you Look at things, Look at Life, and Your Emotions need to change. Through the Holy Spirit, “…old things are passed away…“, the issue is, we have to allow these things to “pass away”. Our old nature, unfortunately, is still live and well and wants to do things the World’s Way. This needs to change and it has to be by Your Own Will, God will not force you to change! This takes Studying and the Will To Change, when you do, through the Holy Spirit, “…behold, all things are become new.”. Most people miss this part, “…become new”, meaning it is a process. Something’s can be instant, other things have to be learned or even re-learned. In most cases, it is not easy, nor at times is it fun, but, is necessary for you to become all that God wants you to be.
By understanding the process, we are able to Overcome Sin in our lives. Most people do things because they have seen someone else do the act. This, is why we need to be Living Epistles, an example for others to learn by!
Look at this from another point of view. You want to be a Cook, Engineer, Programmer, any profession, then you will go through a process of learning that trade, it is not instant. Sometimes we learn that the way we used to things, you can do a different way, more efficient. With God, it is much the same.
